Connecting Europe Facility

The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF, in German) was established by Regulation 1316/2013 / EU and will provide around 30 billion Euros over 2014-2020 for the development of trans-European energy, transport, telecommunications and digital services networks available. The Telecommunications and Digital Services category (1.4 billion Euros) will support projects in areas such as electronic identification, electronic signatures, cyber security, open data, etc. An eligible project must have reached a certain level of maturity and show added value to the EU.

Austrian projects are e.g. culture pool in the context of the European or the Safer Internet Center Austria including Saferinternet.at, Stopline and advice on the wire. A proposal for a successor program will have to be negotiated in the context of the new multi-annual financial framework.
