Agenda 2030 / SDG / Sustainability

Austria has committed itself to implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The Foreign Trade Strategy published in December 2018 acknowledges to make best use for economic growth of the SDGs, the global trend for sustainability and the innovation potential of sustainable development.

Sustainable economic development is the basis for growth and prosperity for all, and thus the most effective fight against poverty.

The Foreign Trade Strategy of December 2018 aims to strengthen the partnership between businesses and development.

The SDGs serve as a guidance for companies and help them to identify market opportunities and international projects.

  •  In this context, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs launched the SDG Business Forum  (LINK to de-Homepage) project with the aim to introduce Austrian companies to new markets in emerging and developing countries.
  • TRIGOS (LINK to de-Homepage) is Austria's most prestigious award for outstanding social and ecological commited companies. The aim is to present companies that function as role models for corporate social responsibility as well as for contributing to the SDGs.
