Peer Review of the Austrian National Contact Point

Countries adhering to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises have to set up National Contact Points (NCPs). The NCPs must operate in visible, accessible, transparent and accountable manner.

In the 2011-update of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises it was determined to strengthen the joint peer learning activities, in particular the voluntary peer reviews. The peer reviews are carried out by representatives of two up to four other NCPs, who assess the NCP and provide recommendations. The reviews provide the NCP with an overview of strengths and performances and identify possibilities for improvement.

The Austrian NCP has undergone a voluntary peer review in 2017. The peer review-report was adopted on 13 March 2019 by the OECD Investment Committee and published on the OECD website. See the peer review of the Austrian NCP (PDF, 1 MB) for your reference.

The process of implementing the recommendations of peer review report to further improve the functioning of the Austrian NCP is is being done together with the Steering Committee of the Austrian NCP. The Austrian NCP reported about this process to the OECD Working Party on Responsible Business Conduct.
